American Massage & Bodywork Institute Students Give Free Massages for a Good Cause

A Local Newspaper Applauds AMBI Students’ Massages as “the highlight of the day”

AMBI students recently ventured over to The Shepherd’s Center of Oakton-Vienna (SCOV) to test out their massage skills. Every year the SCOV puts on a free half-day event to recognize the kindness and hard work that caregivers perform on a daily basis. AMBI students got a chance to practice their massage skills while also helping out an important community initiative.

Caregivers are family members of aunts, uncles, parents, and siblings who are battling dementia. Many caregivers were in the early stages of the battle and were very appreciative of the free massages provided by AMBI students.

A local newspaper, the Vienna-Oakton Connection, covered the event and underscored just how much of a difference that a great massage can make. “Free massages were again provided by American Massage & Bodywork and were the highlight of the day. The students of the Massage School gave in-chair massages to everyone.”

Here at AMBI we’re very proud to not only provide our students with hands-on massage experience, but also to connect with the larger community and show how massage work can aid in managing stress.
