Medical Massage of the Spine and or Postural Dysfunction Certificate

Completion of all four courses will allow the student to be certified in Medical Massage of the Spine and for Postural Dysfunction. The fours courses include: Medical Massage of the Head, Neck, and Jaw; Medical Massage of the Back Day 1; Medical Massage of the Back Day 2; and Medical Massage for Postural Dysfunction.
Participants will receive 6 hours of continuing education credit (CEUs) for each class attended, but all four courses much be completed to receive certification for Medical Massage of the Spine and for Postural Dysfunction.
This course will teach the massage professional about medical conditions and injuries involving the spine so they may apply the appropriate massage techniques to successfully treat a client that may have been referred by a health care provider. The student will review the relevant anatomy and pathophysiology of the spine and explain the benefits as well as the potential massage limitations or contraindications for each medical condition of the spine. The postural dysfunction course will also teach students how to perform a basic postural assessment so they can identify potential postural faults and successfully apply massage techniques to ease postural deviations. Upon completion, the student will have the confidence and skill to provide relief from the symptoms most commonly experienced by clients suffering from spinal medical conditions or injuries, as well as discomfort arising from postural dysfunction.
